We live in an era where most new cars are turbocharged; automakers made the shift to cut down on emissions but also increase power.
While Europeans automakers were at the forefront of selling forced-induction cars, the Japanese followed suit a little later. In fact some of them such as Suzuki continue to use naturally-aspirated engines.
One of such example we adore is the previous generation Suzuki Swift Sport.
Only 55 000km
Powered by a high-revving naturally aspirated 1.6-litre engine four-cylinder engine producing a smile-inducing 100kW and 160Nm.
It uses a short-throw six-speed manual gearbox and if you can execute a fast pull away you'll extract a cheeky chirrup from the front wheels as they struggle for traction.
It's one of the most fun hatchbacks I've driven in my career in motoring journalism career and I've even considered purchasing one a few years ago.
You'll be pleased to know there are still a few on sale in Mzansi and we found a lovely 2015 example with 55 000km on the clock via Autotrader.

These little cars are fairly practical due to their five-door layout and are fitted with decent features such as xenon headlights, USB port and aircon.
Swathed in black paint and sporting standard 16" funky wheels, it looks lekker sporty and ready to punch above its weight.
The ad mentions that the buyer will take on the balance of the factory-backed service plan which is till 60 000km. We'd suggest extending the service plan. The warranty is 100 000km or three years, whichever comes first.
The ad mentions the car has full service history and because its only three years old and has under 60 000km on the clock it should be fairly bulletproof.
Happy hunting!
