In a dramatic new film released by Mercedes-Benz SA, Christopher White, behind the wheel of a self-driving S-Class, returns to scene of his horrific crash 30 later at Chapman's Peak (we've included the original ad at the end of this article).

White, during a moment’s inattention driving along Chapman's Peak, plummeted the equivalent of 30-stories onto the jagged rocks below – a crash that he miraculously survived. Amazingly, he survived the horrific ordeal.

We caught up with Mercedes-Benz Selvin Govender, Marketing Director of Mercedes-Benz Cars South Africa to find out his views on the Chapman's Peak ad, self-driving cars and the state of the SA auto industry.
