More than a dozen vehicles were severely damaged at a car park in Xianyang after contruction workers used a wrecking ball to send a wall crashing down onto a row of parked vehicles.
'IT WAS VERY CHEAP'
According to the company that carried out the demolition work, the wall needed to taken down as it was unsafe and posed a danger to vehicles and pedestrians...
Taxi driver Yu Lin, whose vehicle was severely damaged, said: “I chose the parking spot because it was very cheap – and now I know why.
“I knew they were building something new next door but I didn’t think they would be using such a massive crane to smash down such a tiny wall. I don’t think my insurance will cover this,” he added.
We have to wonder whether any warning signs were erected or if they were simply ignored. It's hard not to notice a giant crane sporting a wrecking ball, though.
