Video: Mini hits the ski slopes

Ever thought about driving your car down a ski slope? No? Well, like most people, you’re not a keen on risking your life. This minor concern doesn’t seem to faze two rally dare-devils who put their collective vehicular madness together to create a Mini capable of traversing ski slopes.

Rally drivers Guerlain Chicherit and Tristan Shu decided to create this extreme Mini to combine there favourite pastimes – rally driving and skiing. The car's capable of jumping aa 30m road gap, ‘ski’ down a flight of stairs and even negotiating a skateboard rail slide!

LOVES THE RUSH

The Mini ALL4 wheel-drive is tough enough to plummet down flights of stairs and capable of performing a plethora of snowboarding inspired stunts.

Chicherit says he wanted to do everything he could while using skis… but on a car.

"I love the rush of adrenalin that both sports can bring and one day I came up with this crazy idea of doing them both together.”
Chicherit says he’s already working on a more powerful version of the Mini.

"I'm already working on designing a much bigger and better car that is lighter, more powerful - and less expensive."

Fellow rally dare-devil Shu says they were determined to make their skiing Mini work and will be building a new model for 2012.

Tristan said: "A lot of people said it couldn't be done but Guerlain and I were determined to make it work. It was a great thrill watching him drive around - and we're hoping we can make an even bigger and better model for 2012!'
