Jaguar has finally unveiled its stunning-looking new XJ! Like the XF and XK ranges the new XJ is to set new design standard in its class... With a very distinctive nose and an elegant rear design it looks unlike any of its predecessors while elevating the brand’s image as a serious contender in the upper luxury sedan segment.
The XJ is arguably one of the most important models in the Indian-owned Jaguar’s portfolio – after all it’s the car of choice for those who occupy Number 10.
The new XJ is not only to seduce car lovers with its sleek, sporty and sophisticated styling but with splendid performance and advanced engineering too.
Furthermore the XJ is a huge step for the Coventry carmaker and it’s also the first all-new Jaguar to be launched since Tata took control of the company last year.
Standard- and long-wheelbase models are available from launch, while buyers will be able to choose from three spec levels. The interior is as seductive as the exterior with top-notch luxury trim and the latest gizmos. Among the electronic goodies are a high-definition Virtual Instruments panel with an 8-inch touchscreen providing Sat-Nav, DVD or TV and a top-of-the-line Bowers & Wilkins 1 200-watt sound system. There’s also an innovative new panoramic glass roof.
Jaguar has fitted the new XJ with its latest petrol and diesel engines. Entry-level cars come with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel while there are two petrol units, a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 and 5.0-litre supercharged V8. The flagship model offer a 350-kw version of the supercharged engine.
Under the skin there are tried-and-tested Jaguar technologies such as air suspension, Adaptive Dynamics (continuously variable damping), Active Differential Control and quick-ratio power steering.
