Owners drove through the beautiful New Forest area to Beaulieu and displayed their American rides at the museum grounds. On display were Chevrolet Corvettes, Ford Mustangs, luxury Cadillacs and Buicks - even a few classic American police patrol cars.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD
Event sponsor Chevrolet showcased a range of vehicles, from an eye-catching red Camaro with black racing stripes and a Chevrolet World Touring Car decked out in racing colours and the new electric Volt.
Visitors had an opportunity to vote for their favourite American vehicles in the People’s Choice Awards. The winning vehicle was a 1950 Mercury lead sled owned by Teri Smith.
Smith's ride won the Best in Show award at Beaulieu’s Custom and Hot Rod Festival earlier in June 2012.
The runner-up was Paul Parker's special 40th anniversary edition 1993 Chevrolet Corvette.
Another Simply American event is scheduled for 2013.
