Porsche has blocked its employees’ access to social networking sites in to protect the sports-car company from industrial espionage.
Access to platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and even eBay has been barred at Porsche work stations since the company became concerned that foreign intelligence services may be spying on workers’ confidential information.
Porsche spokesman, Dirk Erat, said: “These services imply a certain potential threat."
Facebook has previously drawn criticism from users who said the social networking site had not done enough to ensure users’ private details remained private.
There are more than 500-million profiles on Facebook.
