Mitsubishi Motors has revealed that its Pajero Sport will be shown for the first time at the biggest show if its kind in the Southern Hemisphere - the Nampo Agricultural Show.
The latest addition to the Mitsubishi line-up uses the turbocharged 3.2-litre Di-DC engine, familiar to Triton owners, that delivers 118 kW and 343 Nm.
The new model also uses the Super Select 4WD system currently used on the Pajero SUV to distribute torque to the four wheels, dependent on the road or track conditions.
When Pajero Sport officially is launched in South Africa, prospective owners can expect safety equipment to include ABS with EBD, and driver and passenger airbags.
Mercedes-Benz South Africa will have a full line-up on display at the Bothaville, Free State, event that runs from May 12-15.
