How’s this for a claim: Aston Martin reckons the 7.3-litre V12 in its One-77 is the most powerful naturally aspirated road car engine in the world today. Worth a fight?
Well, Aston Martin certainly thinks so. The One-77’s V12, after all, produces 559kW and 750Nm…
Built at the company’s home in Gaydon, the car has spent the past nine months undergoing exhaustive engineering testing. The test programme will culminate with a sign-off session at the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife proving ground.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, chief executive of Aston Martin said: “The One-77 is approaching a production reality and of course, there is considerable excitement in the project. Now the next steps are all about details and refinement to complete the composition. I know the final car will demonstrate what the Aston Martin team is capable of.”
Aston Martin has released a four-part film series of the One-77; the fourth (and latest) instalment shows the complete car in action on a test track for the first time.
Only 77 of the hotly anticipated Aston Martin will be produced and collectors will be rubbing their hands in glee come early 2011 when the first units are delivered.
