Hyundai's budget i10 for SA

Meet Hyundai's new i10, which is to replace the small Atos here next year.

It as just been unveiled in India and a spokesperson of Hyundai South Africa told Wheels24 the i10 will arrive here in April 2008.

The i10 is powered by a 1.1-litre petrol engine which develops 49kW and 99Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while it offers electric power steering too.

A new 55kW 1.1-litre turbodiesel unit is available too with Hyundai claiming an average fuel consumption of 4.3 litres per 100km.

The suspension set-up is Macpherson struts in the front and coil springs coupled with torsion bar in the rear.

It has a wheelbase of 2 380mm which Hyundai says is the biggest in its class resulting in good cabin space.
