Hyundai takes aim at luxury SUVs with the new Veracruz

Hyundai is gearing up to battle it out with luxury sport utility vehicles such as the BMW X5 and Lexus RX350 with its new Veracruz.

According to Hyundai the company plans to sell 20 000 units in the Korean market, while 65 000 units are destined for the export market.

It slots in above the new Hyundai Sante Fe and features a radical design.

The Veracruz comes with a 176kW 3.0-litre V6 diesel which is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
