Gangster loses Lambo over fines

LONDON, England - A Lamborghini owner, already behind bars for a previous crime, has lost his illegally acquired supercar, sold to cover his parking fines.

Gangster Tayfun Ermis wracked up 71 parking tickets he ignored while driving his yellow Lamborghini Murcielago around central London. Each time he received a parking fine he would simply stuff it into his glove box.

Ermis was reportedly driving his Lamborghini, Aston Martin or Bentley around London, each sporting the same fake "1TE" registration plate.

R4.9-BILLION COCAINE BUST

Authorities eventually caught up with Ermis after he was jailed in 2011 for his role in a R4.9-billion cocaine case. Ermis was sentenced to two years in prison for money laundering after officers seized a ton of cocaine on a ship off the coast of Spain.

During a raid police found parking tickets crammed inside his Lamborghini and in July 2011, the Westminster Council made an application to recover R94 842 in fines from the sale of the illegal car.

As a result of a confiscation order the money has been paid to the council.
