BMW sexes up 6

accreditation
The range of 6 Series coupes and convertibles sees subtle changes, including fresh panels and a new auto 'box, for 2008.

From the front, the facia has wider air intakes and gains LED indicators, while at the rear, the third brake light has been integrated in the spoiler.

Certain sections of the rear and tailgate area have also been redesigned to, according to BMW, make the rear end of the car look lower, sleeker and more purposeful.

New exterior colours and new light-alloy rims are also being added to the list of changes.

The interior gets a revised iDrive system, while the convertible model's seats will come with Sun Reflective Technology debuted on the 3 Series convertible.

The 4.8-litre V8 used in the 650i derivatives has been revised too and is now mated with a new six-speed automatic sports transmission.

Stop-start technology is also being introduced on this range. Coupled with an Active Cruise Control system, the Stop and Go function is available on automatic models.

The revised 6 Series range will also come with a Lane Departure Warning system.

BMW SA has confirmed that revised 6 Series models will be available in South Africa from December.
