Aston Martin’s boss, the enigmatic Ulrich Bez, is not a simple MBA CEO with a passing interest in cars.

The German drives an Aston Martin racer at the Nurburgring 24 hour event each year and is a true enthusiast.

As a perk of being Aston’s CEO, Bez does have a rather neat set of company wheels. Aston’s boss drives a late 2009 Rapide, finished in Concours Blue with Obsidian Black leather, Falcon Grey top-stitching and black carpets contrasted by walnut veneers.

Bez’s Rapide is a fantastic car and now you can own it.

Aston Martin has announced that its boss wishes to auction his car at the company’s Newport Pagnell assembly plant on 21 May 2011. Why? Well, it’s not a mileage issue (or pressure from Aston’s fleet manager to upgrade), but rather for a good cause.

Bonhams will administer the auction (agreeing to waive their usual commission) and all proceeds from the sale of Rapide chassis number F00039 will go to helping Japanese communities impacted most severely by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

If you are a well-moneyed type with a thing for stylish design, and have a conscience, this is one Aston Martin purchase you’ll never have to make an excuse for in polite company.
