Alfa Romeo has introduced Alfa Care, an extended warranty plan for pre-owned Alfas nearing the end of their warranty or with expired warranties.
Alfa Care provides additional warranty cover for an additional two years or 40 000 km and kicks in when the manufacturer's warranty or maintenance plan ends. Administered by Motorite Insurance Administrators, the plan insures against future repairs and labour.
The pre-owned warranty can be arranged at the time of purchase, while the original warranty is still valid. In some cases, as with 147 and GT models, Alfa Care can be instituted when the manufacturer's warranty has expired, too.
Vehicles purchased at non-Alfa Romeo dealers also apply. However, all vehicles need to be under five years old, have less than 100 000 km on the clock, and have a service record with an approved Alfa dealership.
The extended warranty is transferable to the next owner of the car.

Alfa Care costs R 6 490 excluding VAT but including medical and roadside emergency assistance.
