INDOMITABLE: The 1491kW SF22 is set for release in 2012.
The Lamborghini Indomable started out as a concept vehicle from the minds of Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares and at first it seemed doomed, like many concept cars, but the opposite happened.

It seems this concept supercar will soon be a reality - though it won’t be built in Lamborghini's stronghold, Sant'Agata Bolognese.

Vehicle specialist 215 Racing has acquired the rights to the Indomable design and plans to turn out a production version, the SF22,  through its sub-company Mostro Di-Potenza.

50 UNITS FOR SALE

According to 215 Racing, power will be derived from a mid-mounted twin-turbo 9.4-litre V8 capable of producing a whopping 1491kW and a torque peak of 2711Nm. The V8 will be mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Top speed for the SF22 is around 426km/h, though a Bugatti Veyron SS can achieve those speeds using only 895kW.

Of course any company can claim such dramatic power figures so we’ll have to wait until Mostro Di-Potenza’s SF22 is on the road. The company plans to build 50 units over the next two years and is already taking orders for mid-2012.

If you’re on the lookout for a new exotic ride the deposit is a reasonable $1000 but the expected retail price is a whopping $950 000 (R6.5-million).
