Ferrari to build 911 rival

accreditation
It's been more than three decades since the last Ferrari Dino rolled of the Italian carmaker's production line but it is due to make a comeback.

According to Auto Express magazine the Italian carmaker is to relaunch the Dino in 2010. When it goes on sale it will tackle sports cars such as the Porsche 911 Turbo and Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

The Dino takes its name from Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfred 'Dino" Ferrari, who died at the age of 24.

It seems as if Pininfarina will be responsible for the new Dino's design. Auto Express also reports that the Dino could be a coupe-cabriolet featuring a retractable hard-top.

Ferrari will apparently build between 3 500 and 5 000 Dinos.

Auto Express says that the Dino could get a 4.2-litre engine with a power output of about 310kW.
