Revered supercar maker Horacio Pagani has alluded to what the legendary Zonda’s successor will be.

In an online interview with a publication in his native Argentina, Pagani revealed a few of the fundamental design parameters which should constitute the forthcoming C9.

Biturbo V12

For starters, the new supecar from Pagani will be assembled in a far larger and more sophisticated facility in Modena - enabling annual volumes of around 40 units. This production capacity far exceeds anything possible during the Zonda era.

Powering the C9 will be another large capacity AMG sourced engine. The company’s 6l bitubo V12 is the choice candidate.

Sporting the necessary tweaks it should trim 515kW (60kW more than in the SL65 'Black') and factor in a regulated 1 000Nm of peak rotational force.

Advanced construction

From a design perspective the C9 will take many cues from the aviation industry, including the design’s surfacing (aerodynamics) and the car’s exotic carbon-titanium chassis.

According to Pagani the new C9 has been designed as an all-new car form the ground up. As such, it features 3 770 new components, including bespoke Pirelli tyres - specially designed solely for use on the new Pagani.

The C9 is expected to debut at the Paris motor show later this year in October.

Beyond all the new design detail promises perhaps the most impressive aspect of the new Pagani C9 is its ability to conform to all global market emission standards – even California’s extraordinarily strict set of emission controls.
