South African fans of MG are in for a treat at the 2013 Johannesburg International Motor Show (Jims) in October as the automaker gives a us a preview of its SA-bound MG3.
"This new hatchback will appeal to the younger generation with its sporty engine and chassis dynamics," the local agents says, "as well as generous spec, practicality and advanced safety."
The new MG3 is expected to arrive later in 2014.
FOUR SPECIFICATIONS
The MG3 will be available in one engine choice (1.5 petrol) and four specifications - the flagship MG3 3Style, the mid-range MG3 3Form, MG3 3Formp Sport and entry-level MG3 3Time. Details of its local line-up will be announced closer to the launch.
The 1.5 petrol is mated to a five-speed manual and delivers 78kW/137Nm to reach 100km/h in 10sec and top speed of 175km/h.
MG South Africa's chief operating officer, Craig Lanham-Love, said: “It's a stylish, highly practical car that is huge fun to drive and own.”
According to the automaker, buyers will be attracted to the MG3's looks and the "huge fun factor offered by this new four-door hatch with its spacious interior".
MG SA's general manager Derrick Bishop said: "And don’t be fooled by the compact dimensions on the outside - the new MG3 has one of the largest cabins in the supermini class."
The new MG3 will make its debut at Jims from October 18-27 2013.
