OTTAWA, Canada - A woman who stopped to help some ducklings across a busy highway has been found guilty of causing the death of two motorcyclists on June 27 2010.
She could spend the rest of her life in jail.
A jury found Emma Czornobaj (25) guilty of two counts of criminal negligence on June 20 2014, and two counts of dangerous driving causing deaths.
FATHER AND DAUGHTER KILLED
She parked her car in the left (overtaking) lane of a highway south of Montreal in June 2010, the court heard, to try to round up a gaggle of ducklings wandering in and out of traffic.
A motorcycle slammed into her car at more than 100km/h. He and his 16-year-old daughter were killed.
Now Czornobaj faces life in prison. She will be sentenced in August 2014.
