Based on the Audi R8, Abt have added their own rear diffuser and a rather extravagant rear wing among a host of styling modifications aimed at dramatically altering the R8's looks while improving aerodynamics and road holding.
Befitting a new entrant to the supercar league, the Abt R8 overdoses on carbon-fibre, including a full bonnet in the material. The Bavarian-based tuning firms claims the host of modifications greatly adds to the quest for near perfect weight distribution.
The Abt R8 is set to ride on a set of outrageous 20-inch BR wheels. Providing enough power to get these four massive wheels moving, Abt will be adding a supercharger to the standard 4.2-litre V8 Audi engine, hiking power to a claimed 390 kW.
As befits an Audi-based supercar, power is transferred to all four wheels, propelling the Abt R8 from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 3.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 317 km/h.
Keeping all the performance in a straight line will be the task of Abt's own fully adjustable suspension system.
