Famed Mercedes tuning specialists Brabus have just released a host of performance upgrades for all barnstorming AMG 63 models in the Mercedes range.

Reprogramming the engine management system with special attention being paid to ignition and injection cycles, and enhancing the overall breathing of the motor by virtue of a sport air filter and exhaust, power has been hiked above the magical 400 kW barrier.

The high-revving, naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8, which is found in the ML, CLK, CLS, S and CL models, produces 404 kW and 650 Nm in Brabus guise. Those outputs are up from the standard versions 386 kW and 630 Nm.

Ensuring maximum control and traction to harness all this temperamental power Brabus has the option of a specialised locking differential for all the rear-wheel drive models - obviously excluding the ML - which has a locking rate of 40%.

While the ML accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, the other models should run the same sprint in 4.3 seconds and go on to a top speed of 330 km/h.

At such epic speeds extreme strain is placed on both brakes and tyres, which Brabus have catered for by means of a custom tailored wheel and brake combinations. High performance rubber of up to running on 11Jx23 mags with tyres up to 315/25 R 23 in size can be specified.

The Brabus high-performance brake system offers stopping power and endurance normally only found in purebred sports cars. Available for all Mercedes 63 AMG models, ceramic discs can be fitted upon special customer request. The front axle features 380 x 36 millimetre discs and 12-piston aluminium fixed callipers. The rear axle is fitted with six-piston fixed callipers and 355 x 28 mm brake discs.

Overall ride height can also be lowered by 20 mm to further enhance handling fluidity. The list of Brabus exclusive interior accessories ranges from genuine carbon-fiber trim and scuff plates with illuminated Brabus logo, to ergonomically shaped sport steering wheels and a speedometer with a 360-km/h dial.

Upon customer request the company-own upholstery shop crafts especially exclusive Brabus interiors from a combination of especially soft yet highly durable Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara.
