Crooks busted for stolen BMWs

Three scrapyard mechanics have been arrested after they were found in possession of stolen cars and parts in Makhado, Limpopo police said on Sunday (March 10 2013).

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the three were arrested on Saturday at a scrapyard dubbed 'BMW Specialist'.

NATIONAL LOOT

"Seven BMW vehicles with a value estimated to be several millions of rands were reported stolen in Sandton, Pinetown, Meadowlands, Cape Town Central, Durban Central, as well as Mamelodi East, were found at the scrapyard with engines and other stripped car parts.

"BMW vehicle doors which were reported stolen in Florida, Themba and Kroonstad were also recovered. Over 50 BMW engines were found on the premises."

Police were searching for the scrapyard's owner, who has apparently fled. The men will appear in the Makhado Magistrate's Court soon.
