CT to host Jag. world launch

accreditation

Jaguar seems to be in love with Cape Town. Earlier this year the British carmaker photographed its new XK here, and now it will host its international launch in the Mother City too.

Wheels24 learned exclusively that Jaguar will bring the world's motoring media to Cape Town in January to experience the new XK. The event will run over six weeks and means a big boost to the local economy.

Although the XK will be the centre of attention, Cape Town will receive a lot of international publicity too.

In February this year Wheels24 brought the world the first glimpse of the XK, when we spied the car in the Cape Town city centre where it was on a photo shoot.

Last week Jaguar released the first photos and info of its new XK, which will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this month.

In 2002 Mercedes-Benz launched its SLR super car in Cape Town too. About 600 journalists from all over the world visited the Mother City back then to drive Merc's most exclusive sports car yet.
