Battle at Spa: 209kW BAC Mono

Earlier in June 2013, Wheels24 reported on motoring personality and queen of the Nurburgring Sabine Schmitz pushing the limits of a Porsche GT3 RS in her latest challenge at the iconic German race track.

Schmitz took on the Ferrari 458 Italia of Ron Simons, CEO of Nurburgring Car Rental and tuition school RSRNurburg.

Now the two 'Ring meisters are back for another battle with both drivers behind the wheel of a Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) Mono at Spa-Francorchamps.

Watch the video

BAC is a British sports car manufacturer based in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.

The Mono is powered by a 209kW/279Nm four-cylinder 2.3-litre Cosworth engine that’s also used by, among others, Caterham in its Seven CSR. The engine is mated to a six-speed Hewland gearbox borrowed from an F3 car, with paddle- shifts.

WHO WILL WIN AT SPA?

The video shows the uber fast single-seater being put through its pace in a damp. Simons is known for being almost unbeatable in wet conditions at Spa for years.
