Another petrol hike for SA

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - When you go to the fuel station on Wednesday 7 August, you'll be paying an extra 32c/litre.

The retail price of all grades of fuel would increase by 32 cents per litre at midnight on Tuesday the department of energy said.

Both forms of diesel, with a 0.05 sulphur octane and 0.005 sulphur octane, would increase by 32.96 cents per litre.

The price of illuminating paraffin would increase by 25 cents per litre and liquid petroleum gas would increase by 22 cents per kilogram.

RECORD HIGH

In Gauteng, 95 ULP octane petrol will now cost a record 2013 high of about R13.23 a litre, while at the coast it will cost around R12.86 a litre. This comes after the massive 84c/litre hike early in July which caused an increase in local drivers turning to public transport.

Earlier in July Wheels24 showed where South Africa's fuel prices rank compared to the rest of the world.
