They might be from the same family but when it comes down to business, there is no love lost between the Volkswagen Golf and the Audi A3.
Audi's latest hatchback offering carries the name tag of premium acclaim that offers the prospective buyer value for money with a host of attractive options.
The new fourth-generation comes standard with a host of great features like LED headlights, a 10.1-inch infotainment system as well as digitally controlled dials. It doesn't lack in the looks department either with sharper lines and a beefed up presence from the predecessor. One can only assume how the S-line would look.
As far as engine options is concerned, there is one petrol and diesel variant to be made available from launch. Local models and specs will be revealed closer to the South African launch next year.
Coming to SA
Both are based on the same platform but are two different cars entirely and will be interesting to see how A3 performs against the 'People's car'.
Audi SA says, if all goes to plan: "With the A3 Sportback and Sedan - these new models are planned for quarter two next year."
