We saw the enormous kidney grilles BMW's 4 Series Concept wore when it was unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt motor show, and confirmation of them on the production are clear from this video of the G82 M4 testing at the Nürburgring.

The coupe and convertible models were undergoing testing during the industry pool days, and the footage gives us some insight into how the S58 engine sounds and seemingly how flat the cars are when cornering.

We know the upcoming M4's engine is the same one powering the X3 M and will reportedly be tweaked to produce more than 375kW.

The models in the clip are heavily camouflaged but what is clear to see is the distinctive kidney grille and four large exhaust pipes.

But what we enjoyed about this video is the noise emanating from the new M4, the distinctive in-line six-cylinder engine has a lovely bass tone to it.

Thankfully the videographer managed to capture close to two and a half minutes of the cars testing. We are likely to see the new M4 sans camouflage towards the end of 2020.

BMWblog.com reports that a purist derivative of the new M4 will feature a manual gearbox.

The M4 will of course line-up against traditional rivals from Audi and Mercedes-Benz with their RS4 and C63.
