Volkswagen is turning back the clock and bringing back the iconic Microbus as two electric models.
According to Business Insider, it is known as the I.D. BUZZ Concept car and brings back the Californian nostalgic lifestyle its predecessor was famed for.
Reinventing the classic
Early specifications suggest the I.D. will feature a range of 547km (340 miles) also boasting a solar roof to further extend its driving range by 14km (9 miles).

Fox News also reports the company will introduce a full self-driving version but nothing is confirmed at this stage regarding the timeframe.
The German automaker announced their decision this year for plans to cease production of the iconic Beetle.
Earlier in December 2017, Wheels24 reported that the Volkswagen ID, ID Buzz and ID Crozz are part of the start-up formation which Volkswagen is introducing at short intervals from 2020 onwards to launch its electric offensive.
The new vehicle generation is to be launched in Europe, China and the USA.
The first vehicle based on the new modular electric drive kit (MEB) is to be the compact all-electric Volkswagen ID which is to roll off the production line at the Zwickau plant in Saxony from the end of 2019.
