Cape Town - BMW South Africa has loaded its new M5 onto the automaker's configurator system and simultaneously revealed the price.
The automaker's high-performance sedan is the first generation to be fitted with all-wheel drive. It uses a 4.4-litre V8 turbocharged engine producing a mammoth 441kW and 750Nm.
An 8-speed automatic gearbox replaces the 7-speed dual-clutch unit from the previous generation. Due to launch at the Kyalami race track on March 28, the F90 M5 has a base price of R1 746 094.
In the 'default' setting, the power is distributed to all four wheels, this can be changed via a controller to send power exclusively to the rear wheels.
