Lamborghini launched the Spyder version of its Huracán Evo rear-wheel-drive virtually using augmented reality, a first in the industry according to CEO Stefano Domenicali.
The new model mixes the ingredients of a V10 engine, rear-wheel drive, a specially tuned performance traction control system and a lightweight soft-top roof.
The Spyder boasts ridiculous numbers, including a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 324km/h.
The roof can be stowed in 17 seconds, even while driving at up to 50km/h.

But it's not all about the numbers Lamborghini says, according to the Italian supercar maker the Spyder is a driver’s car, that delivers a fun-to-drive experience via hardware rather than software.
There is however some software the company is shouting about, and that's the specially tuned P-TCS traction control system that's designed to consistently deliver torque and maintain traction even as the 1509kg Spyder is realigning after sharp cornering or drifting.
Like the hardtop version, the Spyder has various driving modes including Strada, Sport and Corsa.
All that power requires the fitment of ventilated and cross-drilled steel brakes are fitted to 19-inch Kari rims with specially-developed Pirelli P Zero tyres. 20-inch wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes are optional.
Customers in certain markets can expect to take delivery in July 2020.
Lamborghini South Africa says pricing for the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder is from R5 760 000. There is also no indication when cars will arrive locally for customers at this stage due to the pandemic.
