A Wheels24 reader spotted the electrified version of the Mercedes-Benz GLB at the Sun City resort in the North West.
Imran Ismail sent Wheels24 a couple of images and a video clip of a camoflauged version of the upcoming EQB electric crossover. The test mule is covered at the front and rear, with the rest of the car exposed.
The EQB is part of Mercedes' electric car sub-brand and will slot below the South African-bound EQC, an electric SUV. According to Motor1.com, the EQB is likely to use the same powertrain as used in the Concept EQA.
Mercedes says two electric motors will have an output of over 200kW, and a range of close to 400km.
Former Daimler CEO, Dr Dieter Zetsche said in September 2019 that Mercedes' 'electric initiative is gathering pace: by 2022 Mercedes-Benz Cars will have launched more than ten all-electric vehicles on the market."
