The Toyota Hilux was once again the best-selling bakkie in South Africa, according to Naamsa's sales figures for August 2019.
Despite overall sales taking a bit of a slump, the Hilux still managed to register a sales figure of 3565.
In second position, the Ford Ranger and Nissan NP200 slugged it out but the sole half-tonne bakkie in our market topped Ford's flagship; the NP200 sold 2301 units, narrowly beating the Ranger with 2295 units.

The Isuzu D-Max/KB slots into fourth place with 1143, followed by the Nissan NP300/Hardbody (800).
The Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up did well on 281, as did the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up on 235.
Volkswagen’s Amarok retains its solid performance and acquired 178 signatures in eighth place. The GWM Steed sold 173 units in ninth place, followed by the Nissan Navara in tenth on 85.
