Ingolstadt - The new Audi A5 Coupe has undergone both a technological and design transformation while retaining many elements from the original model.
Powering the new A5 will be a range of powerful TDI and TFSI engines. The model will also benefit from the automaker's latest infotainment and driver assistance systems.
The new Audi A5/S5 is set to arrive locally during the first quarter of 2017.
Improved power
The new Audi A5 Coupe will be launched with five engine options internationally - two TFSI and three TDI units. Power output has increased and is now rated between 140kW and 210kW.
The newly developed 3.0-litre TFSI V6, powering the S5 Coupe, now develops 260kW - 15kW more than its predecessor.
Audi SA has yet to confirm engine details and local specifications.
Recognisable design
The bodywork has been aerodynamically optimised to deliver a drag coefficient of just 0.25, while the vehicle rides on a new platform, reducing weight by 60kg compared to its predecessor.
The new Audi A5 Coupé sports a modern with the dynamic and elegant character being passed down to the new version. The sweeping line with pronounced bulges over the wheel arches emphasises all four wheels – a cue to the quattro all-wheel drive.

More space than before
The interior benefits from the increased dimensions and longer wheelbase of the new A5/S5, resulting in more space for driver and passengers. The horizontal architecture of the instrument panel and the continuous air vent strip create a wide sense of space.
