Power output details of the new Volkswagen Golf 8 range has been leaked on the social media site, Instagram.
The post, on Cochespias page, indicates the kW output for the GTI, GTI TCR, GTE and, R models.
According to the post the GTI, which arrives in South Africa at the end of 2020, will produce 180kW from its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, 11kW more than the current model.
The TCR model will have 221kW, an increase of 8kW over the current TCR that will also be launched locally this year.
The other models indicated are the GTD, GTE (an electric hybrid model that isn't scheduled for South Africa), and the Golf R, which has 245kW.
The current Golf R on sale locally delivers 228kW.
Volkswagen South Africa will introduce the eighth-generation in the final quarter of 2020, with the GTI, TSI, and R to be launched in that sequence.
