Cape Town - Lexus South Africa has upgraded three models in its range - NX SUV, RC Sports Coupe and LS sedan.
From improved safety to enhanced multimedia, the models receive updates and improvements to their standard specification.
NX SUV upgraded
Lexus’ Sports SUV, the NX, receives a wireless cell-phone charger for all three specifications (E, EX and F Sport); A compatible smartphone can be recharged wirelessly by placing the device on the charge pad.
The range-topping F Sport receives Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) that also includes Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). The RCTA utilises the Park Distance Control and BSM sensors to audibly and visually warn the driver of an approaching vehicle, when reversing from a parking space.
Turbo-powered RC
The RC Sports Coupe is now powered by a 2 litre turbocharged engine, borrowed from the IS sedan range, capable of 180kW and 350Nm. The engine drives power to the rear-wheels via an eight-speed auto.
Multimedia for LS
The range-topping LS luxury sedan sports an upgraded multimedia system accessed via Lexus’ signature remote touch interface, with, the automaker says, "usage improvements in the form of dual-sided ‘enter’ buttons in addition to a ‘back’ feature".
According to Lexus: "A new standout feature is the ability to display the satellite navigation map across the entire width of the screen, with the option to switch to a 20cm sectioned display, to allow two sets of information on the screen simultaneously, should the driver prefer."
The LS is powered by a 4.6 litre V8 petrol capable of 285kW/493Nm.
