JLR's model onslaught for SA: Project 7, F-Type SVR and more!

Pretoria – In the second half of 2016 Jaguar Land Rover South Africa is set to launch a new range of Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) models locally.

What's SVO? According to JLR: "SVO is a dedicated branch of Jaguar Land Rover that offers high-specification vehicles, high-performance derivatives, bespoke ultra-luxurious models and limited-run cars for collectors to both brands’ most discerning and enthusiastic customers."

JLR currently offers its Range Rover Sport SVR and Range Rover SVAutobiography in South Africa.

Range Rover Sport SVR

The Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest and most powerful Land Rover yet, with incredible performance from its 5.0-litre supercharged V8. It's capable of accelerating from 0 – 100km/h in 4.7 seconds.

The Range Rover Sport SVR retains its off-road credentials, making it, JLR says, "the world’s most capable performance SUV".

Range Rover SVAutobiography

According to JLR: "For the ultimate in luxury, customers should look no further than the Range Rover SVAutobiography."

F-Type Project 7

Five of these bespoke, hand-built supercars are headed to South African customers.

The Project 7 uses a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, producing 423kW (an increase of 19kW over the F-TYpe R Coupé) and 680Nm, the all-aluminium-bodied car weighs just 1585kg. 0-100km/h is dispatched in 3.9 seconds and top speed is limited to 300km/h.

F-Type SVR

In August 2016, the SVR range will be further expanded with the introduction of the fastest production F-Type yet - the SVR.

This 320km/h all-weather supercar will be motivated by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 capable of 423kW/700Nm, with an all-wheel drive system.

According to JLR: "An Inconel titanium exhaust system brings its V8 growl to life."

Classic E-Type revived

Jaguar Heritage recently built six classic Jaguar Lightweight E-Types – 50 years after the completion of the original 12 cars.

These modern reincarnations have been built to the exact specification of the first cars, using high the same performance engines that saw Jaguar win multiple titles at Le Mans.
