A practical car
I've been 'living' with the Honda Jazz Sport, the flagship model of the range, for the past few weeks and I've come to find it to be very good car in practical terms.
It can seat five people with relative ease, courtesy of large comfy chairs up front and a three-seat bench layout in the rear that can be folded in a 60:40 configuration.
For front passengers, there is ample space and the a large storage binnacle between the front seats also doubles as an arm rest and two biggish cup-holders in front of the gear lever.
Even the cubbyhole is roomy.
The Jazz measures in at 1694mm wide and is 4028mm long and backseat passengers are well-catered for in terms of legroom and headroom, it'll give some luxury saloons a run for their money in the legroom department.
The Jazz boasts a generous size boot of 354 litres, and, crucially, it has a deep-set floor allowing for more storage of items. A cover is included and keeps boot-stored items safely closed off.
There's a large square opening and the boot's lip is low enough that makes loading heavy items a breeze.
The Jazz's practicality shines through with its flexible 'magic seats' feature that allows the rear pews to be folded completely flat and increasing the boot size to 1314 litres.
The seat's cushion can also be flipped, if you need to store items in the rear footwell. Nifty.
The Jazz Sport is powered by the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill featuring company's 'Earth Dreams Technology'.
The power output is quoted at 97kW at high 6600 r/min, with torque peak registered at 155Nm at 4600 r/min.
