- Performance, prestige, design and exclusivity make an RS
- Wider arches and single-frame grille
- 8000km testing at the Nurburgring
Here's an opportunity to find out how Audi Sport shapes and engineers the character of its high-performance RS models.
From the design, to engineering and testing, and everything in between, this seven-minute long documentary illustrates what makes an RS model.
Oliver Hoffmann, managing director of Audi Sport, says: "RS models are the spirit of the Audi portfolio."
Performance, prestige, exceptional design and exclusivity are the hallmarks of the 'RS' prefix we've come to know.
On the design aspect it's all about accentuating the arches and the domineering presence of the single-frame grille.
The testing phase looks at the changes to the suspension, powertrain and driveability. RS models feature more powerful engines, sportier suspension configurations and are meant to offer more driver feedback than normal models.
The testing takes place in different regions around the world to see how each vehicle handles hot-weather, arctic and normal conditions.
What you might not know is all RS models undergo 8000km of testing at the world's most demanding race track: the Nurburgring.
