Recently, Kia revealed the first image of its new Grand Sedona. Known in some markets as the Carnival, the new MPV looks markedly different to the model it's set to replace. Fast-forward a few weeks, and the automaker has given a glimpse as to what consumers can expect from the interior.
Coined as 'spacious, comfortable, and futuristic', Kia adopted a minimalistic approach when setting about penning the Grand Sedona's cabin.
Kia says that the dashboard is accented by two high-tech digital displays, both measuring 12.3-inches. One screen acts as an information display to the driver, while the other will play host to media and other features, such as satellite navigation.
In the official press release, Kia says: "Many infotainment functions can be controlled using the touch-sensitive buttons around the screen, with a similar panel further down the centre console for the climate control system."

Practicality is key
The upcoming fourth-generation Grand Sedona has a longer wheelbase, longer rear overhang, and a wider body. It, says Kia, results in more interior space for passengers in all three or four rows of seats. Depending on the market, the Grand Sedona can seat 7, 9, or 11 occupants.
In its popular 7-seat configuration, the Grand Sedona boasts Kia's reclining 'captain's chairs' for second-row occupants, with adjustable backrests, armrests and leg rests providing 'business class' seating for comfort on long journeys, according to Kia.

Second-row occupants have access to back-of-seat USB chargers, storage nets for mobile devices, and a new storage drawer in the base of the rear console, with a tray for storing tablets or phones above a larger storage area.
The all-new Kia Grand Sedona is expected to make its South African debut in 2021. More information about the South African specification, powertrains, and transmissions will be released closer to the local launch date.
