Land Rover’s iconic Defender badge has been given a rugged overhaul in the form of the XTech Special Edition. It’ll reach South Africa in November, 2012.
Decked out in colours unique to the special edition – Orkney Grey and Nara Bronze for South Africa – the Defender XTech models also have contrasting Santorini Black roofs, wheelarches and headlight surrounds.
Black chequered plates line the front bumper and sills, offset by gloss black Saw Tooth 16” alloy rims.
TOP SPEC XTECH
Land Rover said the XTech comes with a high level of standard equipment, including aircon, anti-lock brakes and traction control, remote-controlled central locking and heatable part-leather seats. The Land Rover logo is embossed on the front head restraints while mats show off the Defender logo.
The Defender XTech Special Edition has a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine and to a six-speed manual transmission.
It will be offered in the Defender’s 90 Hard Top and 110 Wagon body styles and is expected in South Africa from November, 2012.
