• British car icon meets Italian flair
• Classic Italian body construction
• Luxury interior
• High-end materials
• Camera to capture 'special road moments'
BMW has debuted a fantastic concept at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como, Italy - the Mini Superleggera Vision.
The open-top two-seater was created by Mini and Touring Superleggera, a "tradition-steeped design and coach-building house based in Milan". The roadster is powered from an electric motor derived from the Mini E.

In collaboration with Mini, Touring Superleggera has designed and built an elaborately crafted, unique model which blends the tradition of classic coachwork construction with the Mini’s British styling.
Its stretched bonnet, long wheelbase and short overhangs convey a retro-futuristic design as those seen in the 1950's.
STUNNING ROADSTER
The front of the concept features traditional Mini design icons - round headlights, bonnet stripes and a hexagonal grille. It has classic sports-car elements such as a wide track and curved wheel arches. Its inlaid bonnet harks back to classic British roadsters.
A large fin defines the rear, akin to Jaguar’s D-type. The highlight of the flat, wide, rear are the unusual lights - designed in the form of a Union Jack - the British flag.
The cabin sports aluminum and leather trim but is generally minimalist in design. The overall theme blends classic roadster characteristics with traditional Mini touches such as the large, thin-rimmed, three-spoked original steering wheel.
It also has a centrally mounted speedometer and column-mounted tachometer, classic Mini features. Even the doors form a Union Jack.
In addition to the analogue clock, the second framed instrument activates a camera between the driver's and front passenger's seat. It's function, BMW says "is that of capturing those particularly worthwhile moments on the road".
