Porsche has given Wheels24 a sneak peek at what will be the latest additions to its local line-up, the 911 Turbo and S Cabriolets. The range-topping cars will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the 911 and the 40th anniversary of the Turbo moniker.
Porsche has announced the addition of two new 911 Turbo models headed for South Africa in 2014 – the 911 Turbo Cabriolet and Turbo S. The vehicles will be unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles auto show on November 20.

The range-topping cabriolets, set to arrive in South Africa in February 2014, coincide with the 50th anniversary of the 911 and the 40th anniversary of the Turbo moniker.
POWERFUL DROP-TOPS
The cabriolets are mechanically identical to the Coupe, which means the 911 Turbo Cabriolet is powered by a 388kW 3.8 flat-six engine and the S derivate capable of 418kW. The cars can rocket from 0-100km/h in 3.5 and 3.2sec respectively and on to 318km/h.
Fuel consumption is rated at 7.8 litres/100km for the Turbo and 9.9 for the S. Each is equipped with dual-clutch transmission, all-wheel drive, rear-axle steering and active aerodynamics. Drivers can set the active aero to deliver maximum efficiency or dynamics.
LUXURY INTERIOR
The flared rear wheel-arches are 28mm wider than those of the Carrera 4, while the rag-top uses a magnesium frame to maintain the Coupe’s roofline which, Porsche claims, has aerodynamic benefits. The roof can be opened or closed in 13 seconds at road speeds up to 50km/h.
The S benefits from a black/red cabin and sport seats but each has a Bose audio system; a Burmeister system is an option, along with adaptive cruise-control and parking radar with a reversing camera.
PRICES (Shown with three or five-year drive plans)
