BOLT, represents an attitude of winning, and staying ahead. This attitude is embodied in the all-new BOLT Hatchback in all aspects of design, drive and seamless connectivity.
With the philosophy of ‘Confident Dynamism’, BOLT is set to create benchmarks in the industry by being miles ahead of competition in terms of Design, Drive and Connectivity.
The bold new stance and the well sculpted body of the BOLT Hatchback puts forth the new Tata Motors design semantics and it is a design culmination of best ideas from the three Tata Motors design studios – Pune (India), Coventry (UK), and Turin (Italy).
It conveys the sense of power and agility with the forward pouncing stance. Flowing lines create the illusion of movement even when it’s standing still. The exterior language exaggerates the feeling of a larger hatchback.
The silhouette reveals smooth, flowing lines finishing in a flat edge of the spoiler. The floating roof spoiler provides an extra sporty touch and aids in aerodynamics. The new Tata signature grill, the new Humanity Line, visually flows into the dynamic headlamps, creating a unique design signature for the brand. A wide air intake and the fog lamp Bezels give a sporty and confident look to the car.
The rear treatment of lamps and bumper give an eye catchy proportion and helps in creating a sporty stance. The effect of the wraparound rear windows by darkened C-pillar creates a distinctive floating roof design. Particularly important in this car are the balance of elements like the fast profile, the floating roof on the back, the strong wedge of the shoulder-line and the wide stretched front and rear. All these elements, combined with a well sculpted body, add to the dynamic and athletic stance.
Interiors come with stunning, high-tech and segment leading features. A premium chrome embellishment renders the cockpit an aura of elegance. The instrument cluster and the central AC vents are connected in a single wing shaped graphics.
The center console is the main focal element for the car, loaded with the best-in-class experience of infotainment and HVAC. The sparing use of chrome on the instrument console, vents, gear knob and on door release handles give an instant up-market boost.
Key design elements like the wing shaped cluster Bezel, 3-spoke steering wheel, gear knob, precisely detailed air vents and sculpturally designed central console create a new, younger aesthetic that will undoubtedly appeal to the next generation buyers.
BOLT Hatchback will be powered by the Turbocharged Intercooled Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) Petrol Engine, REVOTRON 1.2T, which brings nimble road mannerism to the vehicle. The engine is equipped with a high-boost turbo-charger, delivering 66 Kw @ 5000 RPM & 140 Nm @ 1500-4000 RPM. The modern water-cooled turbo-charger, with its low inertia wheel, provides a faster response for a flat, seamless torque density, which is kicked in at the lowest RPM and delivered over a wide range of revolutions, feeding the vehicle with raw power continuously.
The MULTI DRIVE, coupled with a superior throttle response, advanced catalytic converter with reduced Toxic Emissions and Smart ECU (Electronic Control Unit) with various innovative strategies, ensure a superlative on road performance.
Further, the BOLT Hatchback will have ePAS (Electronic Power Assisted System), with ‘Active Return’ function and speed sensitive power steering. New advance gen ABS for improved braking efficiency and segment-first Cornering Stability Control (CSC), adds to the safety features of the vehicle. A silent, quieter cabin will ensure a pleasant and superlative drive experience. The dual-path suspension coupled with a zero pivot sub-frame ensures smooth and comfortable ride.
The improved suspension provides effective isolation from road inputs without compromising on the body control, translating into a class leading balance between ride and handling. This provides for a very comfortable but engaging drive experience.
Recognizing the dynamic consumer world where connectivity is an increasing need for all, Tata Motors has associated with HARMAN for designing the infotainment and audio acoustics system.
With the touchscreen infotainment supporting rich multimedia experience, video play-back, advanced Bluetooth technology, smart voice recognition which understands user commands, advanced smartphone integration, incoming SMS notifications and read-outs*, the BOLT Hatchback will ensure these car users could seamlessly integrate their professional and personal lives into their commute and travel, while bringing in an unparalleled infotainment experience. The system has in-built HVAC controls over touchscreen, which is a first-in-class experience for all consumers.
