Sporty VW Jetta unleashed!

accreditation

The Jetta R, based on the 1.8T Executive model, has joined the range.

At its heart is the 132 kW 4-cylinder turbo-charged 1.8 litre engine introduced in July last year. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in only 8.2 seconds while top speed is 228 km/h.

The Jetta R's overall styling is in line with that performance, with a comprehensive sports package being offered.

Racing type rear and front bumpers, side skirts and tailgate spoiler are the most obvious external changes to the standard Jetta, with 17-inch alloy wheels being offered as standard.

It also features a special exhaust pipe.

Inside, brushed aluminium gives the Jetta R an even sportier ambience, and with everything from the dashboard instruments to the floor included in the package, it is not difficult to see that this is a Jetta with a difference.

Brushed aluminium has been added to:

  • Climate control/radio system
  • Drinks holder
  • Diagnostic plug cover
  • Ashtray cover
  • Interior door handle trim covers

Fitted with Volkswagen Racing "R" inscription are:

  • Footrest cover
  • Pedal cover kit
  • Gear knob
  • Sports type leather bound steering wheel
  • Front carpet set

The Jetta R is being offered in a choice of two colours, Black and Silver. Satellite navigation will not be offered as an option due to the brushed aluminium option on the radio/air conditioning controls fascia.

The Jetta R's price tag is R257 810, and it comes with Volkswagen's 3 year/120 000km warranty and 5 year/60 000 AutoMotion maintenance and service plan.
