Cayenne has announced a launch price for the Erik Buell Racing (EBR) 1190 SX Superfighter. The new motorcycle expands the EBR range; RX, RS and, in November 2014, the new naked SX.

The EBR 1190 SX Superfighter is priced at R169 900.

Craig Langton, dealer principal of EBR SA and the Cayenne Group, said: “This is the model that we have been waiting for it has had some really outstanding raves worldwide and looks fast just standing still.

“It gives us another model option in the EBR range and judging by its sales success to date, the media’s comments internationally and our special launch price it will be a real winner.”

EBR founder and legendary racer Eric Buell, who titled the new EBR 1190 SX as the Superfighter, said the SX was the best sports motorcycle yet.

Buell said: "The street-fighter classification, which was so revolutionary when we first came to market, but is now being used by marketing people for all sorts of motorcycles. So, perhaps the appropriate new name for a bike like the 1190 SX is, 'Superfighter'."

The SX 1190 uses the 1190 RX's V-Twin engine rated at 138kW/136Nm.

The 1190 SX is designed to be a "dominating street machine", featuring an upright riding position, wider handlebars and minimalist bodywork for lower weight.

As with all EBR sport motorcycles, the 1190 SX features many Erik Buell signature innovations to optimise handling and performance, such as fuel in the frame for lower weight and centralised mass, hubless wheels and huge perimeter brake rotors for lower unsprung weight, and EBR's proprietary Controlled Swirl Induction (CSI).

Buyers of new EBR models will benefit from Caynne's Flexifin deal which, the group says, "offers guaranteed trade-ins*, (above current book value), no deposit a guaranteed buy-back after 3 years, road assist and the major offer a free service plan for the life of the agreement".

Langton said: “The new Flexifin offering is a partnership deal with MFC (Motor Finance Corporation, a division of Nedbank) and is another extension of  Cayenne’s strategy of making motorcycling more affordable. With this deal the future value of a new owner’s motorcycle is guaranteed.”
