Nissan's Murano, first introduced to South Africa in 2004, was one of the first medium crossover models mixing a coupé profile with the substantial mass of sporty SUV.
In 2012 the Murano receives several style updates with a new grille, bumpers and LED tail lights. The new model now benefits from a new 18” alloy wheel design, while the cabin is bolstered by new infotainment and connectivity enhancements.
The chromed grille gives the SUV an assertive poise medium while the new body mouldings serve to enhance its appeal and improve aerodynamics and subsequently fuel efficiency.

Powering the Murano will be the current 3.5 V6 petrol engine, borrowed from the 350Z sports coupé, capable of 191kW at 6000rpm and 336Nm with a torque peak of 4400rpm. The engine is mated to an updated Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with a six-speed semi-auto gearshift mode. Fuel consumption is rated at 10.9k/100km
Inside, the Murano sports leather seats while the colour-coded centre console now features dials with white backlighting. A double panel sun roof with retractable sun shades and tinted glass has been added.
The boot can now be opened and closed via the key, dash or the tailgate. Reversing and side-view parking cameras are also fitted.
Available as standard is Nissan's Premium Connect infotainment system, featuring a 40gb satnav system and 9.3gb Music Server controlled via a touch screen. The new multimedia system offers Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity as well as DVD functionality.
Also standard is an 11-speaker BOSE audio system.
