Bridgestone has formed a technical partnership with Belgian motorcycle maker Sarolea for the launch of its SP7 electric superbike, revealed at the Mettet circuit in Belgium during the Speed Trophy series in April 2014.

Bridgestone will provide technical and tyre support  during track-testing for Sarolea in 2014. According to the bike maker, its SP7 is capable of reaching 0-100km/h in 2.8sec on to a top speed of 250km/h.

‘BLAZING A TRAIL’

Sarolea plans to race in 2014 TT Zero Challenge at the Isle of Man TT series and the FIM eRoadRacing World Cup series.

Bridgestone Europe director of marketing, Jose Enrique Gonzales, said: “This partnership is an exciting opportunity to combine our MotoGPTM experience with our vision of sustainable mobility.

“The Sarolea superbike is blazing a trail for electric motorcycles and e-racing.”
