800NM ON OVERBOOST
The Panamera Turbo S will reach South Africa some time in 2014 though in standard guise only.
It has dual turbochargers with larger compressors, boosting power by 37kW to 420kW, with torque increased by 50Nm to 750Nm (800Nm available with overboost). Its twin-turbo V8 engine, driving through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, rockets the Turbo S from 0-100km/h in 3.8sec and on to its top speed of 307km/h.
Average fuel consumption is listed as 10.25 litres/100km, a decrease of more than 11% from the previous model. An optional sports exhaust system allows drivers to direct engine sound into the interior courtesy of a switch.
The Turbo S comes with traction control, all-wheel drive and a Sport Chrono handling package. Drivers can switch between three driving modes - Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. In Comfort mode suspension is altered to offer a relaxed journey, Sport and Sport Plus provide roll support and traction for maximum performance.
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S will have its global debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show (November 22 – December 1).
