PARIS, France - Renault's new family sedan has been revealed and it has a rather weird name: Talisman. The definition is described as "an object believed to have supernatural powers".
Two versions - sedan and estate - will be shown at the September 2015 Frankfurt auto show.
While the Talisman is unlikely to have mystical powers we can tell you it will showcase a new era of design for the automaker's cars cars.
WHAT'S MOVING THEM?
The Talisman will be powered exclusively by turbocharged engines: expect the petrol TCe 150 and TCe 200 and the diesel dCi 110, dCi 130 and dCi 160.

Gearbox options? Petrol engines will be offered only with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission; the diesels will have either a six-speed manual and the dual-clutch deal. The range-topping dCi 160 is only available with a third-pedal.
Renault is placing big money on the Talisman's trump card: interior space. The French automaker promises a 608-litre boot and cabin for 25 litres.
Renault showed a 10cm touchscreen (basic) or a 21cm (high-spec) to make the in-car entertainment easy to use.
Renault SA said it had no plans to introduce the Talisman to the market at this stage.
